We took the kids to the state fair this past weekend. We usually go one night during the week leaving right after school, but my hubby actually got the weekend off this year so we decided to try our luck with Saturday's crowd. The weather couldn't have been better--it cooled down for the day from the 100 degree temps we've been having. However, going during the day instead of the evening threw me off a bit... Today was the first day back for my oldest daughter, Audrey. She's a sophomore this year--EEK! driver's ed! (fortunately not till next semester though...) They only had to go for a couple of hours, just long enough to walk their schedule and meet the teachers. Good thing because we had a big storm yesterday--apparently lightning hit one of the high school buildings and took out the AC unit. If it's not fixed by tomorrow then they'll get out early again. I guess I'm pretty lucky. My "real" job is as a designer for a bridal manufacturing company and I work from home. I've been working from home ever since the princess was born (she 6 now, getting ready to start first grade next week).
