Location:
Land of the Licking River
About Me:
Soccer-mom of two, part-time college student, full-time worker, feminist. Somehow I manage to create feverishly in my "spare" time. My current obsession is needle felting. During the day, under the guise of "work", I daydream about my big bag of richly-colored wools and what I can make out of them. The ideas are endless. My dream is to leave the office and to work from home, so that I can have my own schedule. Creativity cannot always wait until after 5:00 (or more like after 8:00 on my current schedule) to be unleashed!

Gal
I am a/an:

A Wool Gathering

I attended a wool festival in Yellow Springs, OH with some of the women of my family. What a GREAT experience! I took the three felted critters I have and the vendors loved them. It was quite inspiring. What they said is that they can tell that I spend more time on my creations than a lot of other felters because of their density and detail. I knew that.... :)

I purchased several things- two oz. of wool in a beautiful tiger lilly blend (bright oranges), sury alpaca wool in brown, a…

There is a felt lovers group but no group made for needle felting lovers specifically. I agree it would be great to have a needle felting group, would be fun to bounce ideas off each other.

To be quite honest with you I don't even know what kind of wool I use normally. It's always the same type from the same place and it's always labled "roving". Recentlly though I was handed alpaca, and angora. The angora does not felt nice at all and thus my question about the alpaca.

Hiya, thanks for the friend request! Your dolls are beautiful!

Have you felted with alpaca wool yet? I'm afraid to try it, I keep thinking it won't stay together well.
