business funding...is it fact or fiction?

just curious if anyone has had any luck finding funding for a retail biz? i have hit many brick walls and am getting a teensy bit frustrated.

would also love to meet some designers that are interested in putting stuff up for consignment when i can get the doors of the shop open.
