About Me:

Sammo is not my real name. It is, however, a name friends and family have called me since childhood.

Born near Detroit, MI in 1971. Grew up in Kalamazoo, MI. Currently reside in Vicksburg, MI. I graduated from high school in 1989. Went on to study art in college. Hated it. Found a job in fine art publishing. Loved it. Left job to pursue freelance illustration. Hated it. Found full time work in a print shop, an ad agency and then a graphic design firm. Loved each.

By 1999 my art had been seen throughout North America and Canada by way of an illustration I did for the back of panel of a Kellogg's Pop-Tart box. I loved that.

Presently I'm a Creative Director of a graphic design studio specializing in ice cream packaging. As a result, I've designed over two thousand ice cream cartons that have also been seen throughout North America and Puerto Rico. I absolutely love that.

I like to: paint faces on large canvases using acrylics, leave art in public places (guerrilla art) for people to find, photograph odd things, blog, flickr, kayak, write, create documentaries of unique people.
