Fight Spam by Hiding Your Email…two more things

Here’s a couple more tips on how to avoid spam from your website. Some spammers will do what’s called a “directory harvest attack” (DHA). That is they’ll send spam by “guessing” at common versions or usernames combined with your domain name, such as jane@janepotmaker.com, jane.doe@janepotmaker.com, janedoe@janepotmaker.com, info@janepotmaker.com, or support@janepotmaker.com. When the [...]

How to Build Traffic to Your Art Website

A common question that I get on my Crafted Webmaster blog is about building traffic to your website. Because let's face it, a website is useless without visitors.

I don't quite remember who said this, but the easiest way to get traffic to your site is to figure out where the traffic is, and then to put your website right in front if it.

Nicolette, thanks so much for your comments. I see you are also a Project Runway fan so we have that in common as well. Plus anyone who makes miniature book earrings just HAS to be cool. I plan to listen to your telecast and read some of your materials. I have been going totally nuts trying to get traffic without letting the whole web thing take over my life.
