- ABOUT: Paper Pattern Silk is run by Monica Memory out of Fredericton, NB, Canada. Everything for sale has been designed and handcrafted by her. Monica has worked with many mediums and studied design at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, where she took jewelry, photography, drawing, and surface design classes. Each piece is carefully made with an attention to detail and quality. Monica has sold her jewelry and artwork for several years, establishing herself online in 2007. Paper Pattern Silk became a registered business in 2008.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT: I strive to create beautiful, interesting things. I focus my efforts on color, texture, line, and contrast. I like to mix classic elements such as pearls, with unexpected pops of color in unusual glass beads or gemstones. To make my work stand out I pay attention to details that tend to go unnoticed – so I use ear hooks in shapes you haven’t seen, I use dotted hoops, I blacken my metal. It all leads to pieces that have a very modern look, and yet nod back to a classic, feminine, nostalgic feel.
