About Me:
I love making ribbon ornaments. With the little ribbon balls or the fabric flowers in my hands, I am always amazed how art can be created this way. Crafting is a way of meditating minds like cooking! They are an art to appreciate and to love. Hope I can stay this way for a long time.

Back from trip

Finally made it back to home. Don't want to take UAL any more. Spending 72 hours at the airport and flights were a waste of a life. That was the worst part of the trip. I called it, "a great finale"!

I thought about the moment leaving home. Trying to prepare conversations in my head. Will we fall into silence again? Will we laugh together again? I packed my… Continue

How did it end?

Mom sent me tons of her old craft books. Most of them in Japanese. Opening the pages, I saw her lowering her silk ribbon into a bowl of dye. She had tied the silk with fine cotton threads. The white silk soon traded its white flesh into a muddy color. Her eye brows knotted. Her fingers shook slightly. She waited patiently and then used a bamboo skew to picked it out. Carefully untied the silk under the running water, she opened the wrinkled ribbon to let the excessive dye washed out gradually.… Continue

Try it out

I am afraid of blogging. It is like leaking out the words in my brain, and have other people say them with their own voices. I am a person live in mixed cultures. My mother is really into Japanese art of making ribbon flowers. I learned from her by watching her doing all the work. She rarely let me touch her work. It is the artist's pride, I guess. Partly to protect their work from the amateur? Anyway, those years she devoted herself to making those beautiful silk flowers were actually the dark… Continue

Cool avatar--makes me think of a Moravian star. Ribbon is a great medium for this.
