My Wonderful Part Time Job!

I have this wonderful part time job that I want to tell you about. I work 20 hours a week at an Assisted Living place as the Lifestyle Director (fancy name for Activities Director). I wish I had started down this path 20 years ago! I work with about 45 elderly (75 - 90) people, both men and women. The place I work is a beautiful home and it's their home now. These residents are pretty mobile--some use canes, some use walkers and a couple are in wheelchairs. They have just filled my life with…

I love to make Star Books!

Has anyone out there ever made a star book? They are so much fun and very unique. They can be made in any size, but the small ones (approx. 3" x 3") look the best. I have published a couple of pictures for you to see. They aren't the greatest, but when I get more made, I will put more pictures up.

You can fill them with anything you would like. I have made several blank ones and sold them so the buyer can put their own personal photos or journaling in them and give them as a gift. I ne…

Fall and Holiday Craft Shows

Is anyone doing a craft show this fall and winter? If so, what are you making and what sells well for you? I make angels and actually sell many of them year round, but especially during the Holidays. Years ago, angels were very popular, but for me, they have never gone "out of style." They have a special message for us and we need to be reminded of them and our God who also watches over us. Anyway, I am really interested in what you make, so let me know. And if you are n…

Still Hot in Chattanooga!

When is this going to end! It has been above 90 just about every day for more than a month now. I'm so longing for Fall to come. I'm working on my Christmas crafts now because the Holidays will be here before we know it. I have been making angels for the past 15 years now and still enjoy making them, believe it or not. I have changed their look over the years, but basically they are the same. Through my store and wholesale, I have sold over 35,000 of these little angels. When I was making the…

Hot in Chattanooga!

Well, we are breaking all kinds of heat records--yesterday is was a hot 105 degrees! We all try to stay inside as much as possible. It's like an oven when you walk outside.

I work part time as an Activities Director at an assisted living place and I love my job! I get to play games, play the piano, play music, sing and teach arts and crafts to my heart's content. Today, we all went to the Chattanooga Choo Choo. Do you remember the song, "Pardon me boys, is that the Chattanooga Choo Cho…

Hi Linda! Yes, I've used walnut ink, actually I used some on the Sanctuary mailer {not alot on that on though}. I normally soak all my paper in tea and stain it that way, gives it a good soaking and then I throw them in the dryer {after I've soaked most of the water off}....gives them even more of an aged look :) I also will take them out back to dry in the sun, they usually blow around in the dirt and I go pick them up all over the yard, but I love'm old and worn looking :)

I love art and all kinds of arts and crafts. I also own a store where I sell my art and the arts and crafts of other artists and crafters. I hope to share my thoughts, pictures and videos with others who love art. I also hope to meet and enjoy other artists' creations. Linda
