About Me:

Hi and thanks for checking me out. I am Kate from St. Louis, MO. I am a jewelry designer. I make chain maille jewelry and various other chain maille items (no clothing though).

I have been making jewelry since 2002. I started it as therapy, and it has blossomed into an obsession. I learned to make the basic chain maille weaves from my friend Louis many years ago. I set it aside for many years until I decided to pick it up again and see what I could make of it. Thus Libra Gear was born.

I sell my goods locally as well as online. I attend several shows a year with the Saint Louis Craft Mafia as well as some other shows like the Pagan Picnic and Strange Folk Festival. I just recently revamped my website to include a shopping cart.

I am a member of the Saint Louis Craft Mafia.

Favorite Designers/Artists:

If I had to pick a favorite artist it would be Monet. I love the colors in his work. I also enjoy looking at other jewelry designers work to see what wonderfulness they come up with. I am a buyer as well as a seller. :P

Favorite Music/Musicians:

I love the Grateful Dead. I also love the Cure. I am really into Motown, 50's and 60's rock and roll, Bluegrass, 80's pop... I have very varied tastes when it comes to music.

Favorite TV Show & Movies:

Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis hands down. Then comes the new Dr. Who and the Sarah Jane Adventures. :) I am a sci-fi head.
