BABIES - WE'VE GOT BABIES

It has been a wonderful time at the farm - there are babies in the barn. To see their pictures go to www.larkspurfunnyfarm.blogspot.com

I still have two girls to go - this is the best time to be me ! We are going to have some of the best colors this year because the father is a red angora. I love running my fingers thru their tiny little wavey locks. Best of all is the snuggles and play time. I wish you all could have days like th…

Busy in 2008 !

I don't know about the rest of you but I have just caught up with all the holiday orders and am back on track with getting new products out there. Here is some yarn that I finished spinning from some of my fiber stash - "Cookies and Cream" is 100% Organic Alpaca from my guys here at the farm. I just love the feel of this because I have one strand of very fine pure black spun on top of a combination of two fleeces which gives you a soft white to light silver as a lofty base. It has been a big sel… Continue

Black Friday for most but it is Pink Butts at the Funny Farm

I guess most are out at shopping malls and big box stores today but you will find me in the birthing barn with my expecting Goats. It all started with a huge shift in the weather here which in past years has been known to get my goat girls starting their deliveries early. So I worked off any calorie I might a had yesturday by walking back and forth to check on the girls every hour. When the sun went down I then took my small reading table, desk lamp, tea kettle and wool blanket out with me to th… Continue

Now starts the Crazy Holidays

Now that everyone is getting in the crazy mode of the Holidays I find myself trying to breathe and center. Why is it that we have made the Holidays such a Horrible Stresser? Maybe that is why so many want to come to my farm and sit quitely with animals. I continually hear that "If I lived at the Funny Farm I would be calm too". If only they would be here when I snowshoe thru the snow every two hours to manage my goats during the birthing season, or when I sleep on the kitchen floor for three…

Glad to Find You All!

I am new to indiepublic but so excited to have found you all. I hope to share some of the tales, creations and just weird thoughts that happens at my farm. I was not born in the country, I did not have a life long dream of being a fiber artist but life has a way of sending you down the right path. Eleven years ago my husband passed and my two sons and I had to move because the homeowners no longer wanted our two llamas to live in their all horse community. That day we decided to sell our mons…

Where is Larkspur? I saw Pikes Peak in one of your photos...I can see the tip of Pikes Peak to the North from our house...but just the tip, not your view!! I love it!
Actually, this is the first New Year's Eve that we could see the Firework from Pikes Peak...and we have been here 10 years.

Right now I have no Angora Bunnies - raised French Angora for many years. My Angora is also goats. In fact the cutie who face is showing here is Sherlock Homes and he is a Angora Billy. If you go to my blogsite you can read about him and his brother who lived in my kitchen during our horrible winter last year. Now they are two teenagers who are enjoying being big boys outside. They still give tons of kisses and love to sit in your lap for chin scratching. If your ever my way you welcome to come for some of the Funny Farm giggles and snuggles.
