- I'm originally from Istanbul/Turkey, currently living in Orange County/CA. I'm married but no kids yet, I adore them though!
I wish we could all preserve the qualities that children have, as we age; brutally honesty,happiness, oh those giggles, laughs, getting excited over such little things, etc. I think my art/craft is a way of keeping those qualities for me. Also it is like an outlet ,I need to get my creative energy to turn something good, something I can see and touch, or wear in my case. It's been that way since I as very little, I've grown creating,dreaming, and loosing sleep over that stuff!... :)
I always have the thought of being different from the crowd with my art, surprise people, wow them... I don't know if I achieve that with my jewelry designs, but I think trying to create things that have unexpected materials or techniques coming from that mentality. I always try new things, and search for fresh ideas in my head, get inspire from many unusual things everyday, and my endless curiosity! My studio is also like an alchemy lab for me! :)
Selling is about more than money for me. I just LOVE the idea of someone in some part of the world finding my piece of creation, willing to pay for it to be able to wear it! Oh my, what a satisfaction is that?! And, designing for brides, it is the best thing for me! I get high thinking about someone wants to walk to the isle with my design in one of their most important days in life?!? I can die with happiness... =D
