Profile Information

Location:
California
About Me:
I'm a mother of a very active 9 month old boy, a wife of a very supportive husband who dosn't mind half-finished projects scattered throughout the house, a sister of a man who is also a dear friend, a daughter of both a women who teaches fused glass, pottery, and jewelry making as a living and a man who makes amazing food (especially those weekend breakfasts...).

I love to create and learn different methods of creating. Right now I love carving into clay and playing with fused glass; next month, it could be something different. When I'm not spending time with family or working on crafts, I'm probably drinking tea and looking at craft or cooking books from the library... Or on the internet playing on etsy or, now, indiepublic...

Motherhood

Wow. My hands haven't touched clay, glass or anything relating to crafts in three weeks... My 9 month old son is going through some massive teething issues. He takes 30 minute naps, waking up every 2 hours at night and doesn't want anybody but me to hold him (which I do most of the day). My back aches, I'm worn out and the house is a disaster, but I'm still so in love with the little guy. I feel worn to the bone and my only chance to relax is for 2 hours at night during which me and my husband m… Continue

Fellow idiepublic-ers

I absolutely love looking at everyones' pages. Indiepublic is the best. It's like going to an amazing arts and craft show and being so inspired and awed...And I can do this everyday! Actually, I can't because I have loads of laundry to put away, dishes to clean and a little baby boy that's probably waiting for me to come and get him up from his nap... I'm not going to have any time to make stuff if I keep this up...

First Ever Blog

I'm not very computer savy. I've never written a blog or even knew what one was until recently. I just thought that a blog was slang for 'talking sh*t" or something... Well... I guess that I should mention that I'm pretty excited because today I just unloaded my first kiln load of finished pottery from my little kiln. I've just been using it for fused glass up until recently. The 50 little hearts that I cut out one by one, stamped into with stamps I carved myself, cleaned with a dental tool, fir… Continue

Thanks for your words of welcome. Yeah, I'll get images up eventually. Still setting up. I have yet to do much exploring myself. Looking forward to it!

Hi! Thanks for your kind words. I'm trying to find time to make some more of those scarves. I quite like your clay pieces, too!

You do a lot of fun things (AND you have a baby?!) I really love the images on the fused glass. Your grandpa's school pic is my favorite. Is it translucent? Can light shine through the back? Really cool.
