Recycling rough materials into miniature sculptures meant to be worn, Mio Studio crafts new life from exotic hardwoods and precious metals. Artists Mayra Orama Muñiz and Erica Millner hand carve and sand each piece from to start to finish, using their years of experience to meld remnants and scraps together into clean, modern designs.

MATERIAL TERRAIN: A SCULPTURAL EXPLORATION OF LANDSCAPE & PLACE
An imaginative, thought-provoking exhibition that explores the uneasy relationship between the natural and constructed world. It features large-scale, mixed-media works by eleven artists, who employ diverse materials and techniques. Sculptures will be on view inside the Lowe's galleries and on the museum's grounds. Organized by International Arts & Artists in collaboration with the Laumeier Sculpture Park, St. Louis, MO.

This exhibit featured work by a select group of 13 national jewelry artists. Their work is notable for its innovative use of color and alternative materials, including glass beads, polymer clay, pigmented resin, wood, felt, paper and found objects, as well as sterling silver, copper, painted brass, and anodized aluminum. This exhibit was held in conjunction with the 2006 SNAG (Society of North American Goldsmiths) Conference Metals Week in Chicago, May 24-27
