I live in Louisville, Ky. I have 4 grown children, and 6 GRANDchildren.
I started making jewelry when I lived in San Diego, Ca., from 1983 to 1986. I went into a quaint shope in Old Town and saw a beautiful pair of Native American beaded earrings, they were $65.00, way out of my price range..
Soooooo, down the street to the bead shop I went, I bought 3 hanks of seed beads, a couple of needles, a spool of "A" nymo thread, and an instruction book! The rest is history...I wore a pair of the earrings I made to work, and I couldn't make them fast enough for the ladies. Oh, and i didn't charge $65.00!!! (The owners wife bought at least 30 pair, then went out and bought an outfit to match, well hey, she could afford it.)
Since then I have branched out to all kinds of jewelry. I used to have a bead shop, where I sold all kinds of beads, and gave beading lessons in the shop. I also taught beading classess, at night, for the Ky. Board of Education adult education program.
I am 63 yrs old (and proud of it), I am retired now, and, you guessed it, I stay up till all hours, BUT I don't have to get up and go to, well, anywhere!!!!!!! :)
