No worries. I forgot to mention one of my favorites that helped tremendously when I was teaching myself to be a metalsmith. It's titled The Complete Metalsmith by Tim McCreight. It will give you great insight into the properties of various metals and working techniques.
Much success,

Hi Michele:
I looked through my library down at the shop last night but didn't find anything that extensively covers the topic of cold connections. I googled the topic for you and, after reviewing a number of books, settled on the first one that came up: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1579908128/ref=olp_product_details/104-6875678-4507924?ie=UTF8&seller=
Also, there is a very good website for jewelers that I have consulted in the past located at www.ganoksin.com .
Hope this helps and, of course, you are always welcome to get in touch with me for advice.
