Well, lets start at the beginning. I grew up with a very crafty momma! We were always doing new things, trying new projects and materials. She is accomplished at so many arts but was a decorative painting artist and participated in many craft shows (they didn't have the internet way back then). I guess I learned from her that we really can do anything that we put our minds to.
I graduated from Bridgewater State College in 2003 with an Art degree. I dabble in many things. I make floorcloths. For those that don't know, they are handpainted canvas rugs. Popular during the 17th and 18th century.
After graduating I got married, bought a house, and finally had my baby girl last year. Since the birth of my child I have not been able to make many floorcloths and have stopped selling them at shows and online. I did however discover the joy of making diaper cakes. I had always wanted one for my baby shower, but sadly, there was none. I think that they are just the best gift you can give to a new mom. At the later stages of pregnancy new moms are giddy for all things baby. My diaper cakes are filled with essentials as well as cutsie stuff.
So of course, like all new moms I struggle with the work/life balance. I have a full time job which includes, on average, a 3 hour communite round trip. So here I am trying to make a go of it. I have partnered with my sister-in-law, who is expecting in August. We just love working together and creating side by side.
I love meeting new people and getting all the advice I can get, whether it be on marketing, designing, or mothering.
Believe me he will see it! I will get greif later. But hey, I say that she who makes the most money, makes the rules. As is the case now, however, I have a way of changing the rules, like when I stayed home with my daughter, it was she who runs the household. LOL
Well when you have the need for a fix just come and see doctor Karen. She will take care of you. What do men know anyway! He isn't looking is he? I didn't say that! lol
Thank you! I am glad you like my bags! Please stop by my shops often. There is always something new to look at since most of my bags are one of a kind.
I believe when you start adding photos to your page, it will turn into a slide show. How about telling us a little about yourself, too! If you like to blog, you can also post your blogs here.
