Grandpa

I'd like to tell you a little bit about my Coyote Funky bag. I recently told a friend a story about my Grandfather and I... Well when I was a little girl I had a horse, not just any horse...she was a quarter horse..need I say more? Well we lived in southern California on Grandpas ranch. Grandpa was a wholesale florist and designer.

During dove hunting season my horse and I would go in the fields and search for wounded animals...you know, the ones that got caught in the line of fire? St…

Having to much fun!

I'm having so much fun with my tiny bags! They are more fun than the big ones! Some are in the process, waiting for the right embellishment, others are drying...It's an assembly line of tiny bags!

Your site looks great! I used to live in Wichita too, and still have family there.

I've gotta try that. My main reason for wanting to live out in the middle of nowhere is so that I can play with fire. A firing that lasts days sounds like heaven...

Saw your comments about wood firing on another person's page. I, too, have been thrilled by the heat, excitement, and pain of wood firing!

Hi Lisa- I set up an etsy account but I haven't put anything for sale yet. I am kind of nervous about it! But, I think I will probably put up a few things within the next few weeks. Any advice?

I've never seen a wood firing pit. And, no, the raku I've done is always done in a metal drum; then you take out the stuff and put it in a bucket filled with newspaper, pine needles, whatever and cover it with wet newspaper... I love how salt firing looks but I have no idea how it's done. I don't know anything about wood firing, either. I have something to look up now. Not sure why I've never thought to look up salt firing before... Pottery done like that always makes me drool...

HA! I know what you mean! I have a huge file drawer filled with vintage photos and I will look at one on a particular day and they'll "say" nothing and a week later they'll cry out to become something fun! The only problem with that is SPACE...where to put all this stuff that is so wonderful it MUST be saved for future use...because one day it WILL speak. :o)

OH! Hi! Yay! I'm so glad they worked for you!!! I would love to see what you did with them when you're done! :o) I love your bags! Your Indie site looks so good...I have to finish setting mine up...I'll put it on my to-do list today! Best of luck to you! Have a wonderful weekend...yay, it's Friday!!!

Oh yeah... I also do raku any chance I get. Or at least watch because I love the smell. I keep the cloths that I was wearing that day unwashed so that I can smell them up to a week afterwards... And the process is exciting as well.
