If you want to give enameling a try, don't be afraid of the leaded enamels. I use all unleaded stuff for the jewelry I sell, only because many people would be wary of leaded enamels. Leaded enamels do come in many gorgeous colors, which are often more brilliant than unleaded. If you work with leaded enamels just wear a dust mask while sifting- once the enamel is fired it's perfectly safe to wear- like leaded crystal.
But it all started with my series of reports on the Tucson Gem Show last February...on my Yahoo 360 page!
