I'm a fiber artist who absolutlly loves needle felting and crochetting! I am currentlly working on three different series of needle felting statues: "Butterflies", "Dresses", and "Myth and Folklore". Most of my pieces have been given away or sold but I'm working on making my new set and putting out my crochet pieces in the mean time.

Hi. I just got some suri alpaca wool, but haven't used it yet. I think it will be fine for "hair", but it probably is more like Merino and I don't like to use that for the densely felted "body" parts. I've found that my favorite for needle felting is Corriedale. There are some others that are just about as good, but I've had the best results with Corriedale.
It would be great to start a needle felting group here- I haven't seen that yet, only the knitting type groups.
