Baltimore-based Fort Cloudy formed as a part-time project in December 2005 when crafting rock stars Sarah Maier and Ben Moy started creating scarves and tote bags. When Ben decided to focus on his D.C.-based band, Horserider, Sarah began producing work full-time and joined forces with her twin brother, Paul, to expand the business and continue creating new designs.
The duo currently supports the handmade revolution by selling appliquéd goodies for the whole family, including a line of t-shirts for men, women, babies, and kids; sweet and sassy scarves; pop-art plushies; delicious bags of all sizes; and cozy household items. Fort Cloudy's unique designs are based mainly around food and animals, with such characters as the Ninja Fetus, Charlie the Penguin, AppleSue, the Sad Muffin, and others sneaking into hearts worldwide.
Fort Cloudy is constantly on the move and participates in craft shows throughout the United States. Keep an eye on the blog for show and travel updates!
Yay Sarah, thanks for the ad! And thanks again for coming out to party with me, that was awesome. I'm so sad that you're moving right after I got to know you, but it just means more friends across the country! Everyone is local on the internets.
