- About Me:
- I grew up in a family that put creativity and individual expression at the top of its list of values. When I was 10 my parents decided to homeschool me to allow me to pursue art and music to the fullest. They first introduced me to jewelry making almost 10 years ago with a kit on wire wrapping. And now here I am promoting my own designs through my web site (http://www.fiddlelee.com) and Etsy store (http://www.fiddlelee.etsy.com).

I have been playing music professionally since 1997 (I was 12) with my family band, The Homegrown String Band. We began by playing old-time and folk music, but have gradually morphed our style over the years. We are what we are... and what that is...? Something that combines musical influences over genres such as blues, rock, old-time, country, bluegrass, and jazz, just to name a few. We travel around the USA from Maine to Missouri playing at coffee houses, festivals, theaters, libraries, and schools. Our fourth CD, Ragged But Right, was released this summer (2007). Much of the material on this CD is original, contrasting with the our first, mostly traditionally album. You can check the band's Web site for more info at: http://www.homegrownstringband.com
Along with musician and jewelry designer I am proud to call myself a knitter! When I'm not performing, teaching (dance and fiddle), rehearsing, or making jewelry you can find me curled up knitting. Socks, sweaters, hats... I'm a sucker for handpainted yarns.

Been a LONG Time!
It's been a long time since I got around to blogging here. Just too many other things going on. Dad's store is going under. This week is really the last that the doors are open. Basically they're just there cleaning out the equipment and throwing things out. (The store is a photo lab that my dad opened as a partner about 20 years ago.)
