I have sewn most of my life. My Granny taught me how to sew on her many sewing machines. She owned a custom sewing shop in Canada when I was young.
My love of cork started a coulple of years ago. There is a cork store near my family in Canada that sells cork furniture, floors, rugs, shoes, lamps, fabric, etc. After putting the cork flooring in my kitchen and admiring it's beauty and durability, I decided it was time to start sewing with the cork fabric.
The other name for the fabric is cork leather, and you can understand why after touching it! It is also lightweight, durable, waterproof and a renewable resource. The bark grows back on the tree, so it can be harvested again in 10 years!
