Profile

Location:
Toronto, Canada
About Me:
Bird Apparel is an independent clothing company created by Toronto area designer Anita Condron. Influenced by her tailor and seamstress grandparents, Anita was never far from a sewing machine growing up. Anita has taken their passion, hard work, and dedication as inspiration for the creation of her Bird Apparel clothing line.

Bird Apparel clothing is fun, playful, whimsical, and easy to wear. Anita uses soft knit fabrics such as jersey, rib and interlock in a variety of colours and unique prints. Special attention is given to details and embellishments that make each piece truly unique.

Hand-crafted and sweatshop free, all items are made with a focus on quality fabrics and construction. Most designs come in very limited editions or "a-few-of-a-kind" and the selection is always changing and evolving.

Wow I had this image of Canada being so much cooler than it is here. I guess there are stupid boring people everywhere! At least you have health care.
Your clothes are great!

Hi,
thanks I actually am writing a book, so that encouragement means a lot to me. When you're looking at doing a big project like writing a whole book or stating a company it takes a lot of faith to push through to the end. Especially in the beginning. This site is nice because people seem really supportive of each other. I think all creative types really need that.
Thanks again. Oh and I really like your round pockets. I think I would love them on because I would feel like a kangaroo.

Hi! (Well Kinda) - I sell via CafePress, RedBubble and a few at SpreadShirt.com so far as I'm converting everything to vectors for flock tees. All three sites ship to Canada though. I think CP is cheapest for postage :)

If you want a design done in flock (felt) let me know and I'll have the design up at SpreadShirt in 2 days :) You can choose any t-shirt style or color there and they have loads but I'd need advance notice on the graphic so I can convert it for SpreadShirt.

I'm hoping to move house in the next few months (if I get a buyer lol) and then I aim to set up in Brighton UK with my own organic/fairtrade hand-printed t-shirt label at OrganicTshirt.net - we'll see...
