I don't think I've been so happy with something I've made EVER. I screenprinted on some calico yesterday, just to see how it would work. And it worked out perfectly so I decided something had to be made with it. I dragged the sewing machine out and made myself think of something to sew. I thought about a cushion but have no zips left (op shop here I come!) so I wanted to do a bag. A few years ago I bought an old curtain from the recycle market and I have been making things out of it ever since.… Continue

From the start

I finally got around to making up a screen to start screenprinting just over a week ago. I hadn't really done any screenprinting since high school but I've been collecting supplies gradually over that time (staple gun, sqeegee, an ever-growing colour range of Permaset, frame) but couldn't find the mesh anywhere until Eckersley's opened a pretty new store (mind you, that opened aaaages ago).

From 9AM to 5PM every Weekend from Nov 15th thru Dec 21st and then continuing mid-January, Ghettogloss will be producing a holiday fair at the intersection
of Glendale and Silverlake Blvd. Indie crafters will be showing their goods.
There will be local artists mixed in along with the best of vintage collectibles,
vintage clothing, and retro furniture. Did we mention plants, succulents, a Tarot card reader, and a lady who does energy work on animals? What more could you ask for?
