Springtime and a Busy Time for Crafty People

There seems to be a burst of energy with all of the arts people I have been in contact with lately. The seasonal galleries clamoring for our work, the Farmer’s Market and other shows after the doldrums of January to April for sales in the craft world. It would be great, just great if I maximized the slow time to build up for the new season but with my yearly winter travels just buying supplies seems to be my main accomplishment in that arena. We went to the Tuscon Gem and Mineral Show this year… Continue

Scanorama

In addition to this site I have another website www.numinositybeads.com This way I can perhaps have a little more posted about other aspects of my life as well as my creative process. In my life I think it's all integrally linked anyway as I'm sure many of you do. I'm just throwing my net out a little further in hope of catching some readers from outside my art world. Unfortunately the format isn't quite as user friendly as this indiepublic site and… Continue

Equipment malfunction

So finally I say to myself, "Get off of the computer and make something". It's the weekend and I'd better actually get busy with an order I have. Networking is fun but it hasn't transferred into sales as of yet. I go out to my garage studio that I used to keep at a low 47 degrees F until it was time to make beads and then I would crank it up to a comfortable temperature. Now with the cost of fuel I have had to curtail that. That and some unseasonably warmer temps here in interior Alaska . I go… Continue

Headed in this Direction

I was away for a couple of days with no computer access but I'm always in the mode these days for thinking about my art and where I'm headed with it. I have been seriously thinking of developing some metalsmithing skills but was hesitant to invest in all of the equipment before I had gotten a good taste of the medium. I had a chance to take a most affordable class in Chiang Mai Thailand last year as I was awaiting a new passport. The whole class cost less than $35 including the silver and I was… Continue

Last Blast Before I go back to My "REAL" Job

It's the time of year that I have to go back to my "working for wages" job so I'm taking a few days off to do a little Alaskan stuff like go ice-fishing and spend a few days out at our other house 100 miles away. I just got married last June so we have two houses still. Alaska this time of year is tolerable with many sparkly sunny days and just about 12 hours of light every day. I'm new at the ice-fishing, you could say I married into it. As long as it's sunny and above 25 I can be happy hangin… Continue

Welcome to Indie!!!

A bunch of us who sell on Etsy.com have already started excepting RME payments!

It is a new online payment site that a lot more people are using now because it is totally free! No FEES!!!!!!
When someone pays you,you get all of your money! Works just like paypal but without the fees. AND they give you $25 for free just for signing up! I didn't want to tell others about it until I actually got my $25 in my bank account and started using it myself. But I have been using it and it is great! So I am spreading the word!
I am so sorry if this sounds or looks like spam. It is not meant to be at all!!! I really just want to tell you about a new way to except online payments without any fees.

Thanks for congratulating me on my Etsy views. I guess it helps if you wind up in a few treasuries, and once in a blue moon I've been lucky enough to land on the front page. :)
