Model for a day

I had the pleasure of being model for a day on saturday (me and Petri that is). It was beautiful and sunny, and my mother-in-law wanted pictures for her beautiful hand made hats.

These are some of my favourites from the improv shoot. They will probably be up on her website in not too long, but you might still want to go and check out her beautiful work!

On other news, Mazing is relocating within a month or so and I decided to stick with Outland for the time being.

My style has morphed deeper into the fantasy realm and probably not the kind of thing the Mazing crowd is really into, so it's all for the best.

I won't be split in two, but my new display will reflect the new designs and presentation, along with the new website design. In fact, I'm going through a kinda business overhaul thanks to some help from the folks in Outland.

Mercury retro has its curses but its blessings too :)

Computer handycapped

Lately (since mercury went retro) I've resorted to wearing ear plugs with headphones over and loud music just so I can use the computer because the video card fan is a racket.

It's been an on going problem since not long after we bought the card, but we don't have a warranty on it so we're pretty much screwed. It's usually quiet but at times it will just start rattling loudly and won't stop. Yesterday it was quiet all night, until I got up and sat in front of it. I could swear there's a gremlin in there trying to make me miserable.

We've looked into it a thousand times and tried everything, to no avail, and during the summer the card overheats because of the faulty fan. That's what you get folks, when you buy something when mercury's retrograde!

So we're buying a new computer, actually we already did buy a new computer before the retro, but it was delivered recently and of course it was faulty so we had to send it back.

I also had my first non-paying custommer on this mercury retro. An emergency order of chains turned out to be the wrong kind, and an order of clay will arrive much later than usual because they just realized they ran out.

I am praying the business cards I ordered will be what I ordered, or arrive.

I could write ten bibles on why I hate when mercury goes retro. Sometimes things can't wait until it's over, like signing the contract for our apartmenr (let's say 5 appliances broke down within a month). Sometimes you have to make these commitments and deal with the consequences as they come because they just can't be put off.

So in the meantime I find myself computer handycapped. It's hard to think and write sensible things, or listings on Etsy, or reply mails when there's either loud music or a cosntant rattle in the room.

So my apologies for being short or absent, until this issue gets solved.

DaWanda shop closed, pictures

I decided to close my DaWanda shop because it's just not working for me. I've actually considered closing it before for the same reason, but gave it another chance.

Although I forward customers from my site directly to DaWanda, it's the second refferal that has 0 votes in the poll, and I've made most of my sales through Etsy.

DaWanda has offered many wonderful opportunities to alot of people and it's a great site, but I'm sticking with what works for me. I guess you could consider it clearing energetic space.

Eventually I do aim towards an independant web shop, when my catalogue has grown a bit more.

For now I'm putting most of my energy in the Outland project. The display is being literally carved out of airdry clay at the moment. It's one of those things that you plan but really have no idea how it will turn out. So I'm crossing my fingers!

Here are some pics from the IN Magasinet party. The place was really dark and my flash is really terrible so although I took plenty of pictures, I didn't get alot of nice shots. But it was fun to see the models and even the people organizing the event assume I was a photographer and pose for me, or ask about the pictures.
