Profile Information

Location:
St. Louis, MO
About Me:
I live in the suburbs of St. Louis. I enjoy crocheting, sewing, painting....just an artsy crafty person as some would say. I just get a sense of fulfillment out of seeing handmade finished products done by myself or anyone for that matter.

I started sewing around age 14 and crocheting when I was 17. I alternate between the two. I get bored just repeating the same projects or crafts easily. I guess you can say I'm not a repetitious person. I enjoy working with plaster and ceramics.

I work from patterns from time to time, to perfect a stitch or design, I see things in my mind's eye and in my sleep. Always looking for ways to perfect my craft and do something different.

I do, do custom work from time to time. I get a thrill from people people liking my work, making a purchase. It's a dream come true, finally. I guess I'd never found the proper outlet for my work until now.

I recently opened a shop on ETSY. So far sales have been slow, but better than what I thought. There are a lot of great people on ETSY.

I don't have a lot of friends, the ones I do have I've known all my life and we share the love of creativity.

I have about a dozen children.......just kidding, but I do have seven living, four girls and three boys. When I factor in my step children, and grandchildren it makes for a wild party on Holidays. I have two daughters that crochet, none that sew but I'm working on them. Seems I can get their friends to sit still longer to learn a craft.

I just recently bought a home and can't wait to get settled and organized, it has a wonderful basement to use as a work area and a teaching area, I'm really excited. I hope I still can remember how to teach and make it fun to learn. The one thing I remember about my girls and most adults, they want to jump right in and do big things without first mastering the basics. I do stress however creativity. Never lose you in anything you do. Always have and make something that expresses you, follow your mind's eye and never get discouraged no matter how many times you have to take it apart.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to YOU….Happy Birthday to YOU….Happy Birthday, Dear Flo (mother)..Happy Birthday to YOU! This lovely lady would have been 91 today. She was one of the hardest working women I know. She loved just as hard as worked. When I was younger I use to hate her job, she was gone early before it was time for me to go to school and came home long after school was out, only to eat dinner, take a bath, go to bed to do it all over again. I remember begging her to sta… Continue

DO ONE THING

DO ONE THING Commit to doing only the projects and activities which are connected to your main goal. Make sure it is directly or indirectly moving you towards your main goal. Please, try and stay away from anything that will confuse, sidetrack or drain your energy. Now that your goals are set, remember to say ‘Yes’, to what vehicles take you to the place you want to be and ‘No’ to those that don’t or won’t. If you’re anything like me you have friends that will usually need you to sto… Continue

INVEST IN YOU

INVEST IN YOU Invest: verb To furnish with power or authority. To make use of for future benefits. To endow with a quality. Now that we’ve done our homework, we’ve set our goals it’s time to start bringing those dreams to life. This is truly the fun part, this is the test. This will tell you how serious you are about your dreams. Will I sink or swim? Don’t think about sinking always think about the shore ahead of you and go for it. You’ve figured out what it is that you want to Be and now… Continue

INITIATIVE

INITIATIVE Initiative: Function - noun 1: an introductory step 2: energy or aptitude displayed in initiation of action: on one’s own initiative: at one’s own discretion: independently of outside influence or control. Yes, it’s time. Time to take out that notebook and start setting those goals. It’s time to take charge of yourself and your life. Whether your goals are educational or business, take matters into your own hands. This is the part where most wonder where and how. Once you’ve fig… Continue

DECISIONS

This past weekend we all know was Father's Day. I had planned on taking the Mr. out to eat and to a movie, no hot kitchen. Well, as we have experienced a lot of times things don't quite work out as we plan. I got the hot kitchen. The day before he invited his 87 yr. old father over for dinner while we were visiting and of course I didn't say a word. Yes, I did, I asked the old man what he wanted for dinner. It was a special day for him and he spent the whole day with us. My stepdaughter called… Continue

I completely understand. Sometimes its hard to balance so many things - creating, running a business, family and so many other day to day things. Glad you stopped over to say Hi.

Have a great day!
