About Me:
I love crafts! I'll try anything once. My obsession right now is crochet. My new years resolution is to learn needle punch embroidery. I have a great craft room full of stuff and it's always a complete mess, but I love it anyway.
I recently became a member of the American Red Cross and I'm always looking for a way to turn my talents into something that will help others. I hope to get a "Warm Up America" group going in my local community. Outside of crafts I love to trail ride on my 4-wheeler, thrift store shopping and watching home improvement shows. As of Christmas this year I am also hooked on Wii!
I have a great husband and adult son who still lives at home, yeah he's a Momma's boy. My son was voted firefighter of the year this year. I spend a lot of time at fires with the fire dept making sure they have something to drink. There are usually a few firefighters at the dinner table with us most nights so I do spend a lot of time in the kitchen. We also have 5 cats, 3 dogs, a hamster, a frog and an iguana. We do a lot of rescues of unwanted pets.
Well, that's about it for me...that's my story and I'm sticking to it! lol

Can't Judge a Book by it's Cover!

I just went to a great bookmaking workshop where we made tiny little books. Afterwards I kept thinking about all the materials needed to make a book, most of which I have on hand, but there was one important item I didn't have and you know how I hate to have to buy anything special. In my mind there always has to be another way, an easier and cheaper alternative to those "special" supplies we're always pushed to spend our hard earned money on. One of the most important part of making a book is t… Continue

Summertime! Time to give...

Summer is almost here by the calendar, but it showed up here by temperature last week with temps at 100 degrees farenheit! I spent a lot of time in my craftroom working on new projects and playing on the computer. I found a great website that I'm sure many of you already know about, but for those who don't, I would like to pass this info allong. The website www.anysoldier.com gets cards, letters and care packages to our soldiers. I have gotten hooked on it. Yesterday I sent out a care package ja… Continue

Recycling Paper

I have joined a few "swap" groups on the internet lately, which has lead to a lot of paper recycling.Making post cards has been one of my favorites, not only do I get to recycle and make something pretty, but I also get to send a cheery hello to a total stranger. I'm always ready to send a smile to someone. My postcards either start with an already used postcard or cardboard from a cereal box. Magazines are usually my next inspiration. It's amazing what you can cutout of an old magazine and use… Continue

Waste Not, Want Not

While I was in the shower a new idea popped into my head, the shower is where I get most of my ideas, it's the best place to think. Back to my idea or thought as it may be, I was brought up with the "waste not, want not" philosophy. We knew all about recycling way back when, before it was called recycling. If you mention recycling today everyone thinks you have a container full of aluminum cans to put out at the end of the driveway, end of story. If you have read any of my previous posts you wil… Continue

Is Mending Recycling?

As I was sitting here mending the holes in 2 pillows, patching a 6 inch hole in a blanket and glueing a shoe back together I realised that mending and repairing broken items is a form of recycling, isn't it? It would have been easier to just toss it all away and go buy new, but why? I have the know how to fix these things and even make them better. I should back up just a little, your'e probably wondering why I have such a pile of chewed up items? Yes, you guessed it, a young dog! He's not even… Continue

Hi Bonnie, That is Charlie in front of the Irish cottage painting. He didn't go to Ireland with us, just added him in.lol
Are your Sheltie's clingie? Charlie follows
me everywhere and my husband says that he worships me. He was supposed to be my husbands dog, but he has latched onto me which upsets my husband. Oh well! I love Sheltie's, their a wonderful gentle breed.
You were so lucky for find 3 to rescue:)
Here is Charlie's picture...

Ha, Ha! Usually when I tell people my birthday they pause and say, "Oh. You're a SCORPIO." Like that explains everything about me. :)
You have a fantastic, positive, site--I'll be back to read your blog.
