- My name is Alex and I have a lovely little bath and body shop on Etsy as well as a thriving local business selling handmade soaps and other bath related products.
I learned to sew at a very young age and enjoy incorporating sewn items into my line of bath accessories. One of my favorite sewn items is my original design powder puff I like to call "The Powder in the Puff". It is a reminiscent reproduction of a powder puff mitt I had as a child - except this design is a lot more grownup! There are also refill packs of custom blended talc- free powder available to go with those pamper puffs! Choose a scent you love and I'll mix it up for you. After bath powder is a returning pamper trend that is truly a bath-time luxury!
I also love to work with hemp and other natural fibers. Hemp would be at the top of the list of favorites. It is wonderfully versatile and strong. My workroom is a hemp haven with fabrics, fibers and handmade papers all in hemp. My little brain is constantly intrigued by it and ideas for new designs are filling my sketchbook! One of the best sellers in my Etsy shop is my crocheted hemp soap saver (with a multi-color drawstring). It is 100% hemp!
Handmade cold process soaps are what I started with originally. I am allergic to commercial products (including shampoo). Over time I've developed formulations that work well for me and for many wonderful return customers both on Etsy and locally. It is very gratifying to be able to offer people an option to the usual commercial products that don't always help those of us with ultra-sensitive skin. My concentrated facial cleansing grains come in several blends to address most skin types.....and refills packs are also available! "Bar Naked" is another shop favorite. It is a soap bar loaded with skin loving ingredients but has zero added scents or colorings, natural or otherwise. A pretty white bar of soap that works well as a shampoo with lots of fluffy lather : )

- I always love to watch and re-watch and......anything with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. I know all of their movies are what my boys call * silly chic flicks* but I still enjoy watching them over and over - and, I still cry at all of the appropriate spots.......I'm an unapologetic sentimental sap!
