Favorite Designers/Artists:
I'm drawn to ethnic art of all kinds, most of which are not signed by the artist or crafter. There are lots of artists on Etsy that I admire and all the famous artists that I know of are dead and in museums. I've also started featuring some artists in my blog, and they are becoming good mentors for me.
Favorite Music/Musicians:
Ry Cooder, Tom Waits, Caetano Veloso, Chico Buarque, Marisa Monte, Dead Can Dance, Harry Belafonte, Baaba Maal, Tom Jobin, Bob Dylan, Texas Tornadoes and lots more. My favorite instruments are the accordian and harmonica. Almost anything with those sound good to my ears.
Favorite TV Show & Movies:
MASH, Foreign movies, almost anything on Sundance, Harold and Maude, The Dog Whisperer, Alfred Hitchcock, and on and on.

My Etsy Store is loaded with textiles from around the world!

Fiber Focus goes Social on Ning

My blog, Fiber Focus, has developed along nicely with a wonderful array of fiber articles written by people from all walks of life. Fiber artists have described their work, fair trade people have talked about their projects and I've put in my two cents. But, it lacks a sense of community, so I just started a social network by the same name to complement the blog:… Continue

Another Blog? Eeeek! I don't think I can manage it, but.....

.....you can come visit my other one, Fiber Focus. As the name implies (screams out?) the focus is on fiber art. I am a quilter and fiber artist, although these days I'm overwhelmed with trying to make my pay-the-rent business, Rayela Art, get above ground. I buy textiles, remnants, kilims, ralli quilts, molas, and a bunch of other wonderful fiber related things from small importers, traders, and fair trade groups and sell them on my eBay and Etsy s… Continue

My blog has lots of tips & hints for new Etsy members. I've been on Etsy for over two years now & want to give back to the community by helping younger shops. Give it a peek! It has a big plug board for you to load your link up free & two nice spots to run project wonderful ads. Plus, I like to do blog site, link exchanges. I usually get between 75 to 300 hits a day so it stays busy & is a nice place to promote from.
