- It’s all my mother-out-law’s fault, really.
I was over at her house one day, and she beckoned me down to her basement to show me all the sparkly shiny stuff she’d been collecting recently, and all the jewelry she’d made. It looked like a lot of fun, so I went out and got some of my own sparklies, and started a new expensive hobby.
I started wearing some of my jewelry creations, and otherwise well-meaning people were asking where I got this necklace or that bracelet. When I told them I’d made it myself, they’d always ask if I was selling jewelry somewhere.
So, I decided to start selling it somewhere.
My partner saw just how much fun I was having, and decided to join in on the act, and my business became our business.
(Hi, I’m Meredith. I like wooden beads, natural fibers, and long walks on the beach. I also wrote this profile, and a lot of the descriptions and titles for Sweet Tarragon. What Dani didn’t tell you is that while she has a jones for fine jewelry with sterling silver and fancy expensive beads and stuff, I tend to embrace the earthier, greener, hippie vibe, which is why Sweet Tarragon can sometimes seem to have a bit of an identity crisis. Don’t worry, though, it’s all part of the fun.)
