Do you know who you are, or are you having trouble figuring out an identity for your shop? Knowing the answers can help you stand out from your competition. A simple way is to ask yourself these 3 questions...
1. Who are you?
2. What do you do?
3. Why is that important?

I'll go first
1. Tamara, owner of TP Design (http://tpdesign.etsy.com)
2. I create and design home decor and other handmade goods
3. I want to create things that help people to connect to the world around them and inspire them to look at things in a new light.

Your turn. What are your answers...

Hi :)

I am Tara, co-owner of Pink Marsmallow boutique
I create Boutique Deco shoes and Pam (my partner) creates high quality bottlecaps for jewelry, scrapbooking, etc. We sell on Ebay and at etsy... www.pinkmarshmallow.etsy.com
Importance: Well, every girl could use a pair of shoes to match her outfit EXACTLY. The market is NOT flooded with them (like the hairbows I used to create) and it fills a 'want' more than a need. The bottlecaps we offer are so high quality - and evryone is entitled to the highest quality!

Great thread!

1. I am Heather, owner of Kinichi River Designs, found at http://www.kinichiriver.etsy.com
2. I create! I love the process of turning raw materials into new objects - wire into chainmaille jewelry, socks into loveable sock friends.
3. I created for myself to begin with, but learned that others found joy in my work, as well. I love to share my passion, my enthusiasm and my joy with the world. Who doesn't need a little more joy in their life?

1. I am Deana La Rocco
2. I am mostly a felt artist but I enjoy doing whatever kind of craft I can get my hands on usually.
3. I don't know why my dolls would be important, I guess knowing the smiles that were on the peoples faces who bought my first few dolls was what made it important. Needle felting these dolls has made many people out there very happy and to me that's why they're important.

1. I'm Maple, the main pooper scooper on our farm, and owner of http://northstaralpacas.etsy.com
2. I care for and love our alpacas who provide me with awesome fiber that I spin, knit, and weave.
3. It is important for my well being because spinning is theraputic to me. I feel a connection with the animal who has provided the fiber, as well as a feeling for all the women spinners of the past.
It is also important that people use natural fibers instead of the oil based synthetics or the fibers that used excessive energy sources to produce.

That alpaca is so adorable! I think they all have such sweet faces - who could resist?

2. I create small but important object (books, jewelry, clothing) inspired by other worlds for daily use.

3. It is easy, during life on this earth, to forget the mystery surrounding us. I hope my creations point to those other worlds that sometimes spill into ours, and remind people of "the wonder of things, such as stone, and wood, and iron; tree and grass; house and fire; bread and wine." (Tolkien)
