Even though I've been out of school for a long time, I still look forward to September as a time of renewal and new beginnings. Does anyone else still feel that way?
I feel that way too! It's strange how the feeling never quite subsides. This time of the year, and the actual New Year always feel like a time to start new things to me.
I love it ! I play it down now because I don't won't my son to think I'm crazy ...but I used to walk around the stores looking at all the new school supplies and get all excited about writing on the first page of a new school book ( we didn't use loose leaf folders) I always had my finest handwriting on the first virgin pages of a book !! it's funny ..I still look forward to a new diary every year and always promise myself to really keep it neat ..it always works for a few weeks :)
I also feel it's a time to learn something new .... I was going to take an art class on fridays as a treat ..but I got a job offer two days ago so I might not be able to... :(
Oh, yes! Sharp pencils and bright colored notepads. I always pick out a few for myself when they go on super sale in the Fall. A new notebook seems to have limitless possibilities.
I'm still in school....so back to school time means time to hit the books up again! But I do look forward to it - not the assignment / essay / exam part of it; but the interesting classes and friends part :o)
Haha, I'm actually the opposite! I viewed school as more of an interruption, although I loved learning and got good grades. I always had some big project planned for summer, so summer is the time I look at for new beginnings. Spring also, just because of the very nature of it.
OMG! Yes!! It's been 20 years since attending school and I'm *still* on the school calendar. Walking out of Harris Teeter yesterday, I was lamenting about not being in school as we walked past many new students for the new year (Raleigh: huge college town). I had to head to the bookstore for a quick fix on that new-print smell.
