What would you want me to carry for you to purchase?

I'm exhibiting at my first craft show October 13th (as long as I get accepted), and I know I need to make a ton of bath & body things before then. I just need to know what people generally look for?

Help!

Oct 13 is the beginning of holiday shopping season, so I would be interested in things to give as a gift, which would mean coordinating products (same scent) or gift basket/bag options, great product packaging, and maybe complimentary matching gift cards or something like that?

I love making product packaging so if I can help, just let me know!

I too think gift baskets, or small sets are a great idea for the season that your show is in. With pretty ribbon and baskets (or whatever you choose to put your sets in)!

So, should I carry more Christmas/Thanksgiving/Halloween items rather then regular everyday stuff or half/half?

Uh, pretty much I go to craft and art shows with the thought to buy for others...but then I buy for me! I guess two-fers might be nice, one for me, one for them, that might be a good way to package some products...Whaddya think?

Check W, WWD, and NYT Style mags (plus any other newstand mags) to learn what people are buying. Be sure to include several price points for all. Your sales will begin to reveal your own trend report.

When i'm buying soaps and things I like to pick and choose. My friends make soap products and I love to get their three for X$ when shopping.

After doing a few shows sometimes it really comes down to the show and the audiance it attracts. I would ask the promoters who is their typical shopper and the I would ask what other kinds of venders will there be. I went to a show that was mostly geared towards the retirement age, I had some less expensive items and items they were no longer able to make so I ended up doing okay had I known what I knew in the end I would have marketed my items differently. I also did a show( which the promoter was not up front about) that had handmade and retail at the same show. Do not do it. We can not compete with retailers and should not have to. I made my booth money back and that was it. If you can not get information about who they are catering to I would then make sure that you have a variety of ways for your customers to buy. In the end if individual items sell better I guess you could take the sets apart. and If sets are selling better be ready to group your soaps( take extra ribbon. Have a good time. It is so much fun selling in person. A very different experience than on line. Wishing you the best!
