Is anyone else on here??.Its an awesome new website for handmade items only. Its free to list and your shop has to be approved. There's a wall to write on and a blog integrated into your shop.Check it out. Its very professionally ran. And did I mention....its FREE...you only pay if an item sells.
I hadn't heard of it until now, but I just signed up! Thanks for the heads up.
For those worried that the fees are higher than etsy's, take into account that they do not use paypal, so there are no paypal fees. There is no fee to receive money.
Its a semi-juried site so you have to make your stuff. No vintage or mass produced allowed. The Admin is also great...they've made a few changes that I've recommended. Amazon pretty much takes out the fees from each sale so there's no bill accumulating. And even better ...forums are for merchant's only and buyers do not have to join the site. They just need an email address and an Amazon account.
I am very impressed with the blog/wall features. Its like they put the best of Etsy/Facebook/Myspace into one site.
If I may....How are your sales doing?
I stated a fan club on facebook hoping for some drive and am debating about closing my Etsy shop and stay on 1000 markets permanetly?? what do you thing.
I am finally getting active on IndiePublic and am happy to say I have a new shop at 1000markets. It is a very beautiful site and the idea of Markets is absolutely brilliant!
Check out my shop there: http://www.1000markets.com/users/foret
I haven't had a sale there yet... only been on for a few days. But I would love to see how Amazon payments work.
~hint~
Good luck to us all in our flight to freedom from the bigger ecommerce sites!
Love,
Elizabeth
