Indiepublic Member of the Day: Official Thread
Hello everyone--After a brief hiatus, I'm happy to re-introduce Indiepublic's fun feature: Indiepublic Member of the Day! This feature will return and be a regular front page feature beginining Monday, April 21st.
Each weekday (Monday through Friday), I will randomly select one Indiepublic Member to be featured at the top of the Indiepublic homepage. This is, of course, totally free and a great way to gain additional exposure. Here's an example of the banner I will run (I will use your profile picture):
To qualify to be a Member of the Day (MotD), you must reply below -and- also nominate three other Indiepublic members. Here's how it works:
STEP 1:
Reply to the thread below, and nominate three (3) other Indiepublic members to be MotD. Please be sure to give a link to their profile pages.
STEP 2:
Leave a comment on the page of each person you nominated, letting them know that you've nominated them for Member of the Day.
By replying, you will also enter yourself in a drawing to become the MotD. Please reply only once; replying more than once will not gain you additional entries. However, each time another member nominates you you'll get additional entries.
Psst! I've added a sample reply below that you can use as a template for your own reply.
Also, please don't be concerned if your reply is no longer showing up below - I will be periodically cleaning up the replies after adding the entries to the spreadsheet to keep track of the nominations!

Hello to all indiepublic members!
I'm pleased and excited to let you know that I have found a piece of web code (I'm not going to get into all the technical stuff here!) that will allow me to upload the week's worth of "Members of the Day" and it will automatically update the front page every day at midnight with the next day's member.
This is really great as it means that everyone will get the same exposure (24 hours) and it won't be at a somewhat random time when it changes. The best part is that I will now have the ability to track impressions and click throughs!

Hi Casie, I LOVE indiepublic.com!! Just joined and am looking forward to diving in. I read your post above and am interested in the code you mentioned that allowed you to automatically update your front page with the member of the day. Can you share what site that was or provide a link? Thanks! :)

Hi John,
My designer & web guru found a piece of online software called OpenX - it is a robust application and allows all different options for displaying ads or promo ads. You can base it on days, impressions, click throughs, etc. It has WAY more options than I need it to have but it is awesome!
His site is www.artopa.com (he's one of the adverisers on the right hand bar). I don't know if he has it set up for other users yet but mention that I sent you and I'm sure he'll get back to you promptly.

I have been elsewhere occupied for a little while and haven't been on indiepublic as much as I would like.
