Hi Susan, that sounds great--would you be interested in running these groups? The way Indiepublic works is, whoever creates the group first basically gets to be in charge of the group. It's not a big task; the main thing is you'll get to pick the group picture as well as take care of any discussions.
If not, I'll be happy to create them--although I could definitely use some help in writing a short intro blurb (just a sentence) for each.
Let me know how you'd like to proceed, and thanks for the suggestions either way!
Hi Megan! Just go to your group's homepage, and then on the left side you should see a list of links; look for the one that say "Edit This Group's Info" and click on it.
Once you're inside, you should see "Icon" with a small picture icon next to it; click on it and then browse on your computer for a suitable image.
Actually I am a lampworker. I would do lampworking but beading, such as beadweaving and such, I don't know so much about.
I was also thinking of MetalArts which would encompass metalsmithing of all sorts. The requisite being metal. Could involve blacksmithing, coppersmithing, tinsmithing, silver and goldsmithing - all, not just jewelry.
Hi Susan, thanks for your input. I like the idea of both groups; MetalArts seems to be a pretty important one to have and seems to have a broader appeal, but I also like that you're a lampworker too. Why don't we start with the Lampworking group for now and see how that works out for you; if there's demand for the MetalArts one and you're up for taking another group under your wing, we can open that group up as well.
