Every day I'm surprised to find people who are uncomfortable buying products from an individual. They would rather buy from a big box store like Target, Wal-mart or Pottery Barn.

To try to combat this attitude, I have a site called Try Handmade where I feature products which by the sheer fact of their wonderfulness and beauty will convince people to make their first purchase from a independent seller.

If you'd like to be featured, please let me know. I look forward to seeing what you sell!

Thanks,
Erika

Hi Ericka,

What a great site! It is true that you can find the most beautiful things without going to large retail stores. I have found incredible talent through Etsy and other sites.

Of course I would love to be featured. I have been selling on Etsy since August 2007, and love the handmade selling community and helpful nature of the Etsians. I work with glass and silver, making jewelry.

My site is www.charouellette.etsy.com. I also have a blog at http://considerations.ning.com/profile/CharOuellette

Thanks for the consideration,
Char

I would love to be featured! I sell handmade illustrated prints, cards, and handmade cards, too! Mostly, they're fun, happy monsters - perfect for children's rooms! =)

Hello! I would love to be featured!
Here’s my story: I just quit my job as a Montessori Preschool Art Teacher to become a full time artist. I will be moving from Boston to Maine in September to lessen my expenses (RENT!). I graduated from Massart with a BFA in community art education and run a mail art project called S.i.C.A.r.T! (currently on a break but the website is: www.sicart.blogspot.com) I am a firm believer in the power of community and hope to meet fellow artists who feel the same way.
I am working like crazy on some paintings a paper cuts for my etsy page. Check it out if the wind takes ya there:

I find that all too often people think that because it comes from a "big box" store that it's going to be of a better quality, which is just ridiculous.

I think your site is just darling and I'd be honored if you'd check out my etsy site (www.foolsparadise.etsy.com) for consideration.

Hello, Erika, I have a small shop on Etsy (littledoodles1.etsy.com). I have been sewing for alon time. The trouble I have is , when I find a web site, where I can show my work, I don't know how to transfer my items to other sites but you are more than welcome to go to my shop at Etsy and showcase the items you think are somthing people would purchase. My nap mats are very popular, I also sell them on ebay. Thank-You, Rosemary
