I'm always curious to see the workspaces of other artists and crafters! Colors, storage, supplies... they all speak about who we are as artists. So, what does your studio look like? Is it just a small corner in the kitchen? Or do you have an entire room? How 'bout we discuss our workspaces, what we like, and "practical" stuff like storage, organization, etc.! :)

To start off, here are some pictures of my "studio" (attached). Its divided between my sewing/crafting area on one wall and then my "home office" on another wall (where I do my networking, writing, photo editing, etc! :). I'd love to have a whole room one day because right now storage for supplies is a bit of an issue! I have some supplies (trims, embroidery supplies, small notions, etc.) in the blue drawer unit (garage sale find for $5!!!), but my fabrics and larger vintage pieces that I reconstruct are in storage in the basement right now (I have a chest and dresser for that!). One thing I really need to work on is lighting (any ideas); I just don't have enough for detail work if its dark! Basically, this is unusually clean; when I'm in the middle of a project its chaos!! :)

So, show me or tell me: what does *your* space look like?

Cheers!
C.

My studio is an oddly placed corner of the living room. It's tiny but it works well for me. I just created a squidoo lens about my studio so you can see photos here http://www.squidoo.com/noadi_studio

My studio is in my living room, next to my "home office". I have a lovely big desk with lots of shelves beneath for beads and sterling. There is a matching ladder bookshelf too, but that is in a huge box in the garage. We need to put it together, but before we do, I need to sell the sofa that is taking up too much room in here. Then I'll have a great matching bookshelf to store things on as well. I want to get some cool new furniture and make our living room a multi-functional space, with a comfortable seating area and the desks for me to create, and work. Wouldn't that be fabulous?

Um mine looks like a spot on the couch and a few random corners around the house! we don't have enough room for an official "studio" so I take what I can get!

I currently use my parent's dining room/kitchen! It has a big table, fridge, Aga, radio and, usually, the cat. One day I will have a real studio where I can put my stuff up and have my own real space. And no cat to climb my leg when it gets hungry or lonely!

Mine is an extra bedroom, small, no carpet, with a computer desk against one wall, a table, easel, and coffee table (stcked with art books and mags) against the other, and boxes scattered throughout.
Also there's paint on everything.

I turned a dining room nook in my apartment into my "workspace". I try to keep it organized on my table and sewing machine, but sometimes things migrate into the living room. My work table is nice and big, so it holds a lot of stuff!

Mine is currently in boxes, I just graduated, and we spent the weekend moving into our new home. Right now my craft room is white, that will be changing very soon!
