What do you do when you need a break from being creative?

I love to create! But, sometimes I just need a break or run out of ideas and need a week or two to recharge. Do you ever go through this? How do you occupy your time when you are taking a creative break?

Personally, I still like to fill that time doing this with my hands. Most often I will turn to cross-stitch (okay not completely uncreative, but I just follow a pattern and don't need to design anything). Or I like to de-fuzz thrift store sweaters and take them apart for yarn (silly, but I enjoy it) :)

They have tons of flavors now. I like raspberry ice or peach mango.

For a creative break I work out at the gym, visit a friend. A wonderful one is to go outside and check the plants and do a bit of gardening. But just looking at plants / nature is about the most relaxing activity for me. Also reading a novel / bestseller is another excellent way to take a break! Checking out blogs and websites I enjoy for a break...

Yay! superhero cartoons! there's nothing better than superman, mighty mouse, or nagimo (wait.. does that count?) for a little creative break

Strangely, I don't find bein creative a burden. "artist's block" is more of a problem ;)

read, play with hannah, watch a movie with DH, stretch, organize, clean, take a hot bath, cry.

I go for a walk, watch Friends reruns on TV, answer emails, network, research patterns and other creative inspirations.

Seems like I'm doing something to do with being creative 90% of the time at least. :)

I watch moderately mindless TV. Like (Wherever's) Next Top Model, Mythbusters, or stupid panel shows on various topics. I listen to BBC Radio 4 while I work, so the stupid stuff makes a good antidote.

Either that or I have a bath and read a book.

When I suffer from Creativity burn-outs I grab my husky and we jump in the jeep and head to town to either shop for supplies or stop in and see friends. If I don't feel like socializing I will go out to my greenhouse and plant seeds or trim flowers and plants. I like to stay active so might let the dog walk me..... (if you have ever owned a husky you will understand this.) If I am feeling guilty for neglect I will clean house..... UGH!

Photography and playing silly games. =^.^;= Although I'm also an avid reader, and love sudoku.

Sometimes I'll just try something absolutely randomly creative, just to see if I can do it, and see how it turns out. LOL!
