I have a deviant art site but I haven't used it. ( I noticed last time I uploaded images that they had changed the requirements with a few options of copyrights to pick from on how you wanted your images to be used or not used.) I put watermarks on all of my images anyway...

I know a few people have great sucess with networking on deviant art... I guess my style isn't artsy enough because it hasn't worked for me : )

I wish I could delete my account all together, but I haven't found that option yet.

It's totally up to you : ) If you personally feel it's not the best fit, then I would go with that.

I have a DA account but haven't read the submitting rights fully. I should but I haven't. I have uploaded things. I can't get on now to check. When I'll can, I'll see what I can find out. I'm not really an art artist so I haven't really gotten much out of DA.

I have had a dA account for three years (I'm fairly well known there) and I see this issue come up a lot. Though the agreement is not worded as well as it should be, it basically says that you give dA permission to host the image on the website and allow them to (possibly) use it in any site promotional material without compensation. You still retain all rights to your image and work. The main issue here is that dA can use your image in any promotional material without notifying or paying you. Keep in mind that generally only super popular deviants have to deal with this issue.
