I have a shop on Etsy, where I have been doing decently well, but I am wondering about other sites. Does anyone sell on Homegrown Market? How does it compare to Etsy? Any thoughts would be appreciated - thanks!
I agree with you about ETSY, but the minute you stop listing the sales drop off, it is hard to keep up the hard press 24/7/365. I am thinking about checking out Home Grown.
I am listed at HomegrownMarket and find that it is mostly a "showcase" for our products, since we mainly sell beading tools/supplies.
We receive many page views - whether or not those become actual sales, I cannot say.
We have sold some product, but as HomegrownMarket does charge a hefty percentage per sale, my best guess is that the Buyers "Google" to find our products and purchase at our own site.
HomegrownMarket is REALLY ALL GOOD in my opinion and from my experience, this is why:
Your listing(s) are FREE, until you make a sale
It appears to me that they have TONS of traffic, page views, etc.
Their Seller support is EXCELLENT is you have a question or problem.
You will receive nice invoices to send with your products.
You will be paid - on time, as per their agreement. if you have a PayPal account.
Whoo! Hoo!
My only caveat : make sure that you "up" your price to include the commission and shipping.
This is just my 2-cents - and NO - I am NOT trying to sell HomegrownMarket, in any way.
Wow, thank you so much for the information. Very helpful. I think I am going to sign up anyway....the way I look at it, even if one or two people see the link, they might buy and one is better than none.
