the color Pink?

For awhile now I've been pondering this.

It cracks me up that the MOST replied statement to

my grab bag preparations [by the buyer] is,
"Feel free to ship me any doll form in any color BUT pink."

I smile.
If I had a needle for every time I read this response,
I could build a house from my collection of needles.

As a kid, I too loathed pink ribbons in my hair,
or any ribbon in my hair for that matter.

As a teenager, well..
you couldn't pay me a MILLION dollars to dress in pink.
Trust me,
I understand.
I do.

Yet, when it comes to my art
PINK stands a chance.
In fact, a form of pink, "magenta" IS my favorite color.

So, what does pink percolate in you?

Do you like or despise pink?

Do you use PINK in your art?
Tell me, does pink stand a chance with you?

I don't use pink as a background or in the totality of my art but love it as an accent.
I love to work with Teal, Green, and all the earth colors.
Your grab bags are amazing, last year I ended up with a Christmas Tree full of little dolls from your collection of miny goddess dolls.

I like pink, and magenta is a favorite of mine, too! I actually just made a pair of earrings with rose quartz...

Though, if I'm completely honest, I tend to go for either the paler pinks or the bright "look at me!" pinks. everything in between reminds me of Pepto, lol.

I DID used to hate Pink, but at the request of several regular buyers, I started working w/ it...guess what sold better than any other scheme, PINK with Purple a close second...so now i ♥ Pink because Pink =$$$$ for me. ♥ Love, Helen

I won't wear pink, but I don't wear a lot of color any way. I love using pink paints, yarns, fabrics, etc. I think I'm comfy with it because I most certainly didn't wear it as a child.

I don't mind pink...I love it when combined with orange. Pink is HUGE in the shabby/chic stuff it seems. I wouldn't wear it though!

Not keen on Barbie pink but Bullseye transparent Fuschia glass is yummy!

I don't think I look good in it, but I certainly love it......reminds me of Yvonne Porcella's Mrs. Pink and Magenta.

There's a shade of pink called "Baker-Miller pink" (it's kinda like Pepto-Bismol pink) that is used institutionally to soothe people who have volatile tendencies. I've never been a huge fan of pink myself, but we have a bathroom in my house that has tiles in that shade, and I have to admit, it's a soothing room to be in...

ha ha! i personally have never been one to wear pink. however, i have used it on occasions in my creations and admire it in the work of others.

when i was younger i remember buying a couple articles of clothing that were pink knowing i had no intention of ever wearing them. they were just so pretty to look at.

i like the color pink - it reminds me of being "of flesh and blood". The book written by Carrie Fisher, "Surrender The Pink" comes to mind. Very feminine & female of course. my bathroom is peachy pink and i collect vintage pink pottery. Certain shades of pink remind me of the southwest where i live. Adobe pinks and mauve pink - pink and gray and pink and brown are 2 combinations that i really like. Actually, i like all the colors of pinks together! Good topic!

I love pink, just not on its own. I love it with black or brown, and another of my favorite combinations (as someone else said) is with orange. Magenta and orange specifically. I don't wear a ton of it, but I found a bright pink/magenta as a lining in a black jacket the other day and fell in love! Someone told me that makes me a closet pinky, A little goes a long way with pink.
