Indiepublic

If you're new to Indiepublic, please introduce yourself here! We're a friendly and supportive community so don't be shy.

I'll start: My name is Sion Lee and I live in Las Vegas, NV. I'm a full-time blogger and artist; you may know me from my blog, Cuteable, or from my art, Ubiki. I have an engineering background which allows me to do all sorts of fun stuff with websites, but at heart I'm a creative soul who enjoys art and design.

In my spare time I like doodling, feeding the koi in my backyard pond, and playing with my crazy monster beagle, Sogo!

Hi everyone! My name is Lyra, I am an Interior Designer, Illustrator and Crafter. I am addicted to design blogs, books (design and illustration), painting and anything that has to do with yarn. I live with my husband in Evansville, IN but I am originally from Manila, Philippines. We are expecting our first child this December, so I am currently obsessed with knitting and crocheting baby clothes. Nice to meet you all. Have a good day!

Hi - my name is Vikki (although mostly known as Kooky!) and I am an artist living in the UK on the south west coast in the county of Devon. I am constantly making things, in fact I can't think of a day where I haven't made something new or drawn in my sketchbook. Hello everyone! I'm Maggie, I'm 27 and I live in South Louisiana. I am a sahm to 4 kids. They are 8,6,2, and newborn. The two oldest are boys and the little ones are girls. My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was very young, and that was the beginning of a serious craft addiction that has gotten progressively worse as I get older!! I am loving Etsy and Indiepublic so far!

Hello! I'm Brooke at ThePaintedTiger. I started my business as a knitter of custom scarves, but needed something a little more year round. Our new community choir was in need of a defining costume, and we could not find the ties and scarves we wanted for a price we could afford (hmmmm....ties, or new music...yeah, music would win!!). So, creative and recklessly brave person that I am (you know....the people who say "I could do that" and actually do), I dyed the things.

So now, here I am with a pile of dye, and I'm done with the project. While browsing the Dharma Trading Company catalog, I discovered they had just added natural yarn to be dyed. Curious, I looked on the internet to see if hand dyed would be worthwhile selling. Apparently, I had been living under a rock, because all of this beautiful yarn came up. Of course I tried it, and here I am!!

I mix all my own colors from the primaries (fushia, turquoise, and yellow), for a wide range of tones. I dye all weights of yarn, although I don't have them all for sale, so if you don't see your favorite weight, let me know. I have merino, superwash, cotton, and bamboo yarns, plus wool/silk and wool/nylon blends.

In my RL, I am a SAHM with two kids who are young and homeschooled (yep, double whammy!). I play trumpet in the local Symphony, and sing Soprano with RiverChor, the previously mentioned community choir. I love the outdoors, which is good, since we just purchased a half acre wooded lot that hasn't been maintained for the last 10 years (lol!). We also have two cats.

Here is a sample of my yarn:
