If both of these options fail, please contact tech support here and be as specific as possible about your issue, as this will greatly assist them in finding a solution.
I checked in IE and found that I did not have the issue any longer. It appears to be only an issue with Firefox(for me). It worked just fine til last night and I hope it will work again as it is very frustrating to switch to IE. I use Firefox for 99.5% of what I do online because they have nicer features.
Thanks for looking into this so quickly! The site is quite nice!
Curiously enough I had the reverse situation: worked in Firefox, did not work in IE.
This is definitely an issue with the network as a whole. I suspect that Ning (the network that Indiepublic runs on) may have made some changes "under the hood" last night that are responsible for this problem. I will keep you posted!
I too use Firefox 99.5% of the time. I was also experiencing the same issues discussed. I cleared my cache and now it's working fine. Thanks for the advice!! :)
Yes, it definitely is, Brandi! Right now I am leaning towards the cache solution being the stronger of the two, as restarting your computer does not necessarily clear your browser cache.
Thanks for letting me know--this information is like gold!
When you say clear the cache, do you mean getting rid of the cookie(I went in and deleted just the indiepublic cookie). I have done this several times and it still will not work in firefox for me. Or do I have to delete every cookie I have because deleting all my cookies will be a major headache for me when I try to login to a variety of places.
Or is clearing the cache something totally different from cookies?
Something else I discovered though, editing feature doesn't work in firefox, I had to switch over to IE to edit this post. Hmmm. Guess Ning doesn't care much for Firefox.
Hi! Nope -- you don't need to delete your cookies. Cache and cookies are different things, but Firefox has a somewhat convoluted way of deleting them so here's how you can do it:
1. Go to your Tools menu.
2. Select Options.
3. Click on the "Privacy" tab.
4. Under "Private Data", click "Settings".
5. You should see a list of checkboxes. ONLY check "cache". Make sure the other ones are unchecked (unless you want to delete them, but it's not necessary).
6. Click "OK".
7. Now click the "Clear Now" button.
Give that a try and let me know if that works. Thanks for your patience! =)
