If you follow the thread below titled "
Another quick post" and read the comments you will be up to date on the subject of this posting.
where to start! First about coding, Suddenly, 8 or so folks are now on my friends list. That tells me for the most part that my postings there drew some interest, and that my message was received. What I still don't know is how many folks are reading this blog but not official friends. The old rule of thumb would be to multiply by 4. This is the model i will use till i can refine it further. I really do not have a solid handle on it but I need a starting point to help me work out numbers latter on. Yeah marketing is allot about numbers, but easy ones. The numbers are used to help understand the demographics of the market you are in.
Trick:
Understand your market, it will improve your sells tremendously.
I want to change voice out of this teacher mode. Man, I got hammered over there. I tried to not let the negative voices get to me. It really took me by surprise. And I realized a bunch of things from that experience. The most important part is that I was being hammered for talking about biz in the biz and marketing section, and the factual tone was a turn off to some, and somehow some folks took that as bad. I know why it happened though. My title sucked. I picked it on purpose, but it clearly rubbed some folks the wrong way. I picked it because i wanted to test my ablity to be able to convert clearly skeptical folks into beliving my message. My goal was to do that humbly and by example. Which worked for a very long time till the thread got to popular. But was it the right way to get my message across?????
THIS IS NOT ABOUT GET RICH QUICK. For me this is about sharing.
I do think as a rule of thumb way more folks were interested in the discussion than not. Cool, but the negatives are hard to get past. My older brother tone seems to get folks. Please stop now, and don't bother me if you can not deal with it because that is the way i am.
Was the thread a success? or a failure?
Trick:
blogs need to be short :)
Controversy is considered a very strong marketing ploy. Personally you can have it, I never try and use it on purpose.
And one final thought, Marketing is often cold and cruel and just about the numbers. I will try and keep it as light as I possibly humanly can.
