I am a writer and artist living in the Tidewater area of Virginia with my husband in a wacky house built long before we were born (the house likes to remind us of that fact, too). I've also worked as a television producer, a newspaper reporter and a bookseller, and I've lived in Southern California (Los Angeles and Orange County), northern Nevada, Philadelphia, eastern Germany and the Czech Republic. I'd like to keep moving, too. I love bright colors, books of all sorts, quirky art, fairy tales, subtle jokes and artificial fruit flavors. I, like so many other people, am obsessed with art supplies.

Hi Alison, thanks for you comment on my post, I just wanted to let you know that you can be involved with ESL even if you aren't trained specifically for it. Some programs need tutors from the community sometimes programs even use volunteers as teachers. Check it out in your community.
I love your maps, what a cool idea. I lived for a long time in Southern California, and for a little while in Virginia. Enjoyed your "about me" info - you sound like a very interesting person. - Take care! CJ
Hi Alison,
We have our open house at the Red Thread this weekend, so I am a little crazy right now. I will be at
Handmade Parade, it should be fun.
