Hello, I am an 18th generation Master blacksmith and a direct descendant of the famous pioneer, Daniel Boone.
I have been designing and building large-scale architectural forgings for over 17 years. I have taught the skills of blacksmithing internationally and my projects have been published in numerous books and magazines. Many of my articles on design have been published.
I have displayed my unique forgings in many invitational gallery exhibits focusing on contemporary design in art and in the field of blacksmithing.
My current focus is my product line called Boone's Hooks Hand-forged Home Accessories which is featured in the fall 2008 Gaiam/Real Goods Holiday catalog.
"The artist blacksmith has a unique variety of forging techniques that are specific to the craft of blacksmithing. Forged textures, joinery, forge welding, and the ability to transform metal are some examples. In my work, I highlight these many techniques through composition and execution of a project. The resulting effect expresses harmony of design and function with regard to the integrity of the medium."
My current focus is a hand forged home accessories product line called Boone's Hooks.

Hey Smyth, Lovely work!!!! Impressive heritage you have. My ancestors were blacksmiths from Belgium, the Vallon people, that came to Sweden to do iron work 1700 ish.....then the family worked theiir way away from smithwork for 200 years until heard metal sing for the first time...
