- Going through the process of dealing with a rare illness that has disabled me and changed my life in many ways, I am using my time and life changes to build a business with the passion for beadwork that my illness has not been able to take from me. I create hand woven seed bead jewelry with my specialty being amulet bags and multistrand chokers, also make old fashioned sequined ornaments completely hand stitched because they sparkle and shine, I am here to learn and network to give me the knowledge I need to be an active part of the community and grow my business.

- My passion is creating ornaments and jewelry that glitter and sparkle using a very old fashioned idea from my grandmothers era. I start with a piece of felt and a design. I may do some areas of my design with acrylic paint and glitter paint, then I start to have fun. I individually hand stitch sequins and beads into all the other area of the design until it is completely filled in. Then I add a felt backing to hide all those stitches, (believe me that part is not pretty) and a beaded hanging loop. To finish the ornament I seal it with an acrylic gloss sealer which serves two purposes. It stops the sequins from tarnishing (which most do with age) and Just makes it sparkle more!
I also create handstrung jewelry. I work mostly with seed beads, I have a passion for Amulet bags, I used many types of beads from gemstone chips to handmade glass beads as accent pieces on my seedbead work. I also like to frequently incorporate something I have made from polymer clay such as a cab as a focal piece. I use nymo beading thread and like to use peyote and brickstitch work, I do not like hardware such as jump rings and headpins so use as little as possible other than a clasp to close the neck chain of my work. I can do custom designs in specific colors, and my bags are done from tiny mini bags that are just the right size to hold a quarter up to ones large enough to carry a credit card.
