Hello! Just joined, and am tickled to find this group. I never liked tattoos. Never, that is, until I met my current squeeze material, Gary, who had a wonderful tattoo (first guy I've dated that even had one) on one forearm when I met him. It was highly colorful and incredibly skillfully drawn, and it changed my mind about tattoos. I liked it so much, in fact, that when he suggested that I get a lower back tattoo, not only did I get one, but wound up expanding it to a design (of my own, with a modicum of interpretation by the wonderful artist who performed it on me) that meanders up one half of my back onto my shoulder and is an open design that will easily allow me to connect future designs to it...and I already have my next tat planned. I'll try to figure out how to post an image of my current tattoo and maybe even a sketch or two of my next one. Our artist is in such demand that I asked for my next appointment back in May and his first opening was September!
I'd love to hear feedback on my sketches and/or on how it turned out. To me, the heron's tailfeathers are a bit...unfinished? murky? unclear? Our tattoo artist didn't really study all the photos I took him, of the heron's anatomy from every possible angle, so I'm not sure he figured out quite what he wanted to do in that area. I assume it could always be touched up or even added-to, if I decide to?

BTW, want to give credit to the tattooer who is an extremely talented artist, specializing in "garage"-themed artwork: hot rods, cars, pinup girls, etc. He did my lover's tattoos as well, and I'll see if I can post photos of those after I upload this batch. They are better examples of his considerable strengths, and he deserves to have them included. Check out Rob Struven of Garage Ink, at www.garageinkstudios.com/

I'm happy to meet all of you, and can see that there's some serious talent happening here. Looking forward to getting to know you all--I'm painfully isolated in a rural area to which I moved only a year ago, and on disability income I can't get out to meet folks very often, here. I'd love to make some chat and/or e-mail friends, if possible. I'm a decent writer (don't take this as a sample, please) and a pretty good storyteller, plus have lived a fabulously interesting life; I'm interested in a million things from music to anthropology to science to spirituality to horticulture, and on and on. Obviously I'm interested in art, possibly more than anything else in the world...

Give me a ring sometime--I'm on Yahoo messenger and MSN messenger but would install other clients if I found chat friends.

Make more art!

Thanks for having me, here, and hugs all 'round,
Terri of Heron Moon Designworks

What an awesome group - found you via Love One World Zero!

I got my 1st tat when I was 21 and now have several... kind of like potato chips - can't have just one!

When I return from vacation next week I'll get some pics of my tats to post (do I dare say how many... ).
Happy day,
☼ Rocki

Just wanted to introduce myself, I'm vic, I own and design for www.tat2ts.com . I started my fasination with tattoos when I was 13, and started the learning process at 16. I think my home area is finally matured enough to open a shop. Right now I'm only working on select clients till i save the scratch to get one going ( not to mention convincing the wife tattoos are accetable these days lol ) Thats one reason I stared www.tat2ts.com to have and outlet for my artistic side and to make extra cash to get my shop :D
